Fixing. The plate is now thoroughly washed and then placed in a tray containing the fixing solution. Should it be a properly exposed negative, all the yellow iodide unacted upon by the light will have been cleared away and the image indelibly fixed upon the portions of the film which remain - a perfect negative.
