A 3/8" hole drilled through this connection permits passage of a 2 1" length of 3/8" rod which extends through the main frame to support two small wheels, obtained from a cycle shop. For added strength, rivet an 8" length of 1" bar from the bottom brace up 45° to the top or main frame.

Reel itself rotates on 20" length of 3/8" rod extending through a drum made by cutting two 8" diameter circles from 94" plywood and nailing four 1" x 2" strips 16" long between these two heads. Cover heads with plain aluminum sheet, flanged over edges. Wrap the strips with a sheet of plain aluminum 16" wide to complete the drum. Cut two crosspieces 18" long from 1/8" x 94" bar and attach to each

12-26 drumhead as shown. Make and attach a clip on one to hold the hose nozzle.

A loop of aluminum clothesline wire locks the reel when engaged with a crossbar as shown in Fig. 12-26. Use a 11/2" length of 94" tube over the reel axle between each end of the reel and the main frame to prevent reel arms from striking frame.

Chaise Loncue (Fig. 12-27) uses a frame of 1/16" x 1" x 1" angle with corners notched and bent as in Fig. 4-37. Be sure to rivet splice plates inside the bend at each corner for added strength. Make frames to fit the sponge rubber cushions obtained at your nearby auto or sports goods store. Rivet 1/8" x 3/4" bars crosswise the frame at 6" intervals to support the cushions.

Back frame is joined to bottom frame by a single rivet or bolt at each side to allow back frame angle to be adjusted. A 6" length of 1/4" x 1" bar angled down from the back frame has 3/8" slots cut into it to engage a length of 3/8" rod which extends across the extreme rear ends of the bottom frame. This allows back to be set at angle desired.

The arms of 3/4" tube are bent per Fig. 3-27 and accompanying instructions; then bolted to bottom frame. Front support for bottom frame is also 1/4" x 1" bar bent and riveted to bottom frame to hold it about 8" off the ground. Be sure to add front cross brace, as pictured. Similar supports carry the back axle and the two wheels from your neighborhood cycle shop.

Handy accessories to this unit are the magazine rack underneath the bottom frame .... made from 1/8" x 3/4" angle and sheet. The left arm has clips and an angle support of 3/8" rod bent and riveted to a tray obtained from the corner dime store.
