Answer. - The cheque is payable to bearer, and the bearer entitled to payment on presentation. But the bank's only duty is to its customer, and if it cares to assume the responsibility to him of delaying the honour of his cheque until his further instructions are obtained it is free to do so, so far as anyone else is concerned.
