A. odoratum: stems 1-2 feet high, tufted; spike-like panicle, l 1/2-2 inches long; herbage fragrant when withering having the well-known smell of new hay, which is attributable to this common pasture grass. - Sweet Vernal Grass. - Meadows and pastures. Fl. May, June.
