J. montana: annual or biennial; stems short, decumbent or ascending, sometimes nearly erect, one foot high, with spreading branches; leaves linear or lanceolate, waved on the edges, hairy; flower-heads on long terminal peduncles, the involucral bracts broadly ovate, the flowers or florets small, pale blue. - Sheep'sbit. - Heathy pastures, banks, etc. Fl June, July.
