Color, white or a pale pink (see p. 265). For this genus the flowers are large, on short peduncles, crowded on the branches or clustered at the ends of the stems. Petals, much longer than the calyx lobes, inversely heart-shaped, notched on the tip. Leaves, much divided into about 5 segments, these again cut into long and narrow lobes. Leaves at the root roundish, 3 or 4 inches broad. Summer.

Plant faintly scented of musk.
