A downy-stemmed plant 1 - 2 feet high, found in dry, sandy soil. Ontario to Manitoba, New Jersey, Florida, Arkansas and Texas.

Flowers

Borne in terminal clusters, crimson-pink, purplish or white, 5-parted; somewhat sticky immediately beneath the flower.

Leaves

Narrow or lance-shaped, toothless, stemless.
