A tall, smooth-stemmed, branching plant, 2 - 8 feet high, found in meadows, prairies. Pennsylvania to Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky and Georgia.

Compound 7 - 9-parted, terminal leaflet largest, lobed and toothed.
