Ten ounces sugar.
One pound butter. One pint sweet milk. Four eggs. One pound flour. Two teaspoonful baking powder. Two teaspoonful vanilla. Rub butter and sugar to a cream, then rub in eggs one at a time, add milk and flavoring and mix in, then; sift the baking powder and flour together and mix in, proceed as for other wafers.
One and one-half cups sugar.
Three-fourths cupful butter.
One and one-half cupsful milk.
Four teaspoonful baking powder.
Five cups flour.
Rub the sugar and butter to a cream, add eggs and cream in, add the milk and flavoring and mix in, sift the baking powder and flour together and mix in fully but lightly, finish same as other cookies, when cold cover with icing and sprinkle with grated cocoanut while icing is soft, return to oven a few seconds to harden the icing.
