This is an excellent method of utilising cold cooked potatoes and cabbage, spinach or turnip-tops.

Required: One breakfastcupful of mashed potato. One breakfastcupful of finely chopped cabbage or other green vegetable. One ounce of butter. Salt or pepper. (Sufficient for four persons.)

Mash the potatoes finely, either by rubbing them through a sieve or with a fork. Melt the butter in a saucepan, put in the potato and the chopped cabbage, and mix all thoroughly together. Season the mixture carefully with salt and pepper, and put it in a greased pie-dish. Bake it in a hot oven for about twenty minutes. Turn it on to a hot dish, and serve very hot.

N.B. - If preferred, good beef dripping may be used instead of butter.
