Boil one pound of lump sugar in half a pint of water for ten minutes, add any picked fruit, such as raspberries, currants, strawberries, plums, apples, pears, apricots, peaches, etc. Prepare the fruits, and toss them in the boiling syrup. Add one teaspoonful or less of orange curacoa. Stand on ice, and serve with proteid clotted cream.
