6 egg yolks beaten stiff to lemon color

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice and rind of one

1 cup flour whites of 6 eggs

Method :

To well beaten yolks add sugar gradually, mix in lemon juice and rind and add alternately flour with whites of eggs. Bake slowly in ungreased tube pan.

Sponge Cake

yolks of 4 eggs 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup orange juice whites of 4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

Method :

Beat egg yolks well, add sugar gradually then orange juice, vanilla and whites of eggs alternately with flour which has been sifted three times with baking powder. Bake in a tube pan, ungreased, one hour.

1 tablespoon butter added to milk

1/2 teaspoon salt vanilla

1/2 cup hot milk

Bake in slow oven thirty to forty minutes.
