1 cup chopped suet packed tightly 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup butter 1 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup raisins vanilla
Method:
Combine sugar, suet, butter and milk. Then add the dry ingredients which have been mixed and sifted together, raisins and flavoring. Steam two hours. Serve hot with pudding sauce.

1/2 cup brown sugar 2 cups chopped suet 1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt enough flour to make stiff loaf
1/2 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 pound raisins 1/2 cup molasses 1 cup citron nutmeg brandy
Method:
Combine first four ingredients, then add dry ingredients which have been sifted together, alternating with the milk. Then add remaining ingredients and steam for five hours. This makes a rich pudding, which is like a fruit cake and keeps well.
