Heat oven to 375°
Mix together thoroughly
Sift together and stir in
Stir in
1 cup soft shortening (part butter for flavor) 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar (packed in cup)
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups sifted Gold
Medal Flour 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups salted peanuts
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. If sugar does not stick to glass, dip glass in water.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies 2 inches in diameter.
