50 bananas 3 cups white corn syrup 1 1/4 quarts boiling water

2/3 cup cornstarch 1/2 cup margarine 2 cups orange juice

Bake bananas in hot oven for twenty or thirty minutes, or until they swell almost to bursting; remove from skin. Or peel and put in casseroles to bake. Serve with hot or cold sauce: Mix cornstarch with a little cold water, and add to remainder when it boils. Boil five minutes; add margarine, syrup, one teaspoon salt, and, boil one minute. Add juice and grated rind of orange. Pour over bananas before serving.
