1 1/2 pecks winter apples 1 1/2 quarts white corn syrup 3/4 quart strong vinegar
1 pint light brown sugar 1 tablespoon whole cloves 1 tablespoon cinnamon buds
Pare, quarter, and core apples; add remaining ingredients, bring to boil five minutes, and cook two or three hours in fireless cooker or Aladdin oven. The apples should be light in color, and soft but not broken. Serve with roast pork, veal, or game.
