Protein: builds up the tissues and cells burned up throughout the day's activities. Eggs, meat, fish, milk, cheese, beans, peas, nuts, grains, and gelatines.
Fats: lubricate the body and furnish energy. Butter, cream, olive oil, nuts, meat and vegetable oils.
Carbohydrates: starches and sugars. Furnish heat and energy. Cereals, lima beans, lentils, peas, corn, potatoes. Fruits, syrups, sugars.
Vitamines: for growth and health. Fresh fruit juices, eggs, butter, milk, coarse grains, greens and fresh vegetables. Especially citrus fruits.
Mineral Salts: to build bone in children, to aid digestion and to make food palatable. Salt, good water. Spinach, carrots, onions, greens, raw lettuce and raw vegetables.
