Recipe 608 - Black Cake

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 TBSP vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
2 cups flour

In a mixer add butter, brown sugar and white sugar--beat. Add egg yolks--beat. In a
bowl add the boiling water, cocoa and baking soda, then add to the batter in the
mixer--beat. Add vanilla and baking powder--beat. Add flour--beat. Add egg whites
last--beat. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35
minutes. Frost as desired.
