N. N., Louisville, Ky., says: "Can you give us any information of the so-called Wester 1 Tannin Plant, and whether the same is in practical use in this country?
[The plant is Polygonum amphibium, abounding in the East as well as the West. Our opinion, from all we can learn, is that it is a fair substitute where bark is scarce; but we cannot learn that much is being done with it. - Ed. G. M.]
