A correspondent, who is very familiar with the Coniferall of the American continent, writes :"Is it possible that the beautiful spruces collected by you and Mr. Hoopes from the highest timber growths of Gray's Peak in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, are really of Abies Eugelmanni? If they are, they do not agree with the description recently given of this species by Prof. C. S. Sargent".
[We can only say that what we take to be Picea Engelmanni are the same, and we think from the same location, as those from which Dr. Parry made his original description. Ed. G. M].
