This handsome evergreen tree is a native of Australia, has smooth glossy bright, light-green leaves and bears masses of tubular-shaped yellow flowers which have a strong sweet odor scenting the atmosphere for an area of a hundred yards. It grows freely in any good garden soil and should be used extensively in planting large grounds.

Propagation is by cuttings placed in a cold frame, during October, in light sandy leaf-mold. It may also be propagated by seeds sown in Spring in a frame, the seeds to be covered to the depth of a quarter of an inch.
