Slender-branched deciduous twiggy shrubs with bright light-green leaves and bright-yellow flowers. Being among our earliest Spring-flowering shrubs they are much in demand and should be seen in every garden however small. The double-flowering variety has the prettier flowers, but the single-flowered is the more elegant in habit and keeps in flower for a much longer period than the double-flowering variety.

Propagate by cuttings in the Fall or by division of the roots in early Spring.
