A large genus of evergreen and deciduous shrubs belonging to the Verbena family. Growing freely in any garden soil and of a rambling habit of growth, it is well adapted for forming undergrowth for filling in open spaces between upright growing shrubs or for forming thickets under deciduous trees.
It also is very useful as a covering for steep banks where few plants of a shrubby character are successful. It requires very little artificial watering.
Propagate by cuttings in October.
