A large genus mostly Australian. Some of them make beautiful bushes and should be more often seen. They succeed in any good soil and require little water if given thorough cultivation. The best flowering kinds are Olearia Forsteri, Olearia Gunniana and Olearia Haastii.

Propagate by cuttings of half-ripe wood inserted, in October, in sandy leaf-mold, placed in a cold frame, and kept close and shaded from hot sunshine for two weeks.
