This differs mainly from the last in the globose head of carpels and coriaceous leaves. There are seven species, all Asiatic. The Japanese name of one species.
1. K. Japonica. - A small shrub with lanceolate acutely acuminate remotely toothed leaves. Flowers solitary and axillary, yellowish white, about an inch in diameter, succeeded by clusters of scarlet berries. A native of Japan, flowering in Autumn.
