The fresh leaves and branches of Atropa Belladonna. The leaves are 3-8 inches long; broadly ovate, acute, entire, nearly glabrous. Important constituent, the alkaloid atropine.
1Extractum Belladonnæ Viride. Green Extract of Belladonna. Dose, 1/4-1 gr.; 15-60 mgms.
The juice expressed from the fresh leaves, filtered and concentrated at a low heat. (A frequent ingredient of pills.)
3Succus Belladonnae. Juice of Belladonna. Dose, 5 - 16 min.; 0.3 - 1 c.c.
To three parts of the fresh juice one part of alcohol is added.
