This preparation is somewhat stronger than the preceding, having the sp. gr. 0.817. It differs also in being more completely destitute of fusel oil; and on this account was introduced into the Pharmacopoeia, as a means of preparing other officinal substances, as ether, spirit of nitrous ether, etc. It is not used of itself medicinally, and is therefore of more importance to the pharmaceutist than the medical practitioner.
