Setting Nails. When the nail has been driven as nearly "home" as possible, "set" it until the head is at least 1/16" below the surface of the work. In applying the set, rest the little finger of the left hand on the work, as shown by Fig. 171, and press the set firmly against it; there will then be no trouble in keeping the set on the head of the nail.
