The Gouge may be described as being a chisel with the blade rounded, as in Fig. 20. Though not so much used as chisels, they cannot be dispensed with, and a few should form part of the outfit. Unless of a very flat kind, when the edge of the oilstone may be used, slips of sharpening stone are necessary to put a good edge on them, and they are best with any kind,
