Barege (Ba-Razh'). [So called from Bareges, a town in France, where it was first made] Barege veiling is woven with an extremely fine silk warp and a fluffy woolen weft, thirty inches wide. It is imported from France in several qualities, the length of the pieces being determined by-meters or "aunes." An aune in English measure is 11/4 yards. [See Veiling]
