Skirt. A woman's petticoat; that part of a woman's dress that hangs from the waist. A divided skirt is that style of dress recommended on hygenic grounds by the Jenness Millerites, in which the skirt resembles a pair of exceedingly loose trousers. [See Petticoat, Balmoral]
