A substance which separates in a solid state from blood after it leaves the body. It is a white, stringy snbstance, which may be readily obtained by stirring newly-shed blood. It is tasteless, insoluble in water, but is readily digestible in gastric and pancreatic juice, and when dried forms a heavy mass resembling albumen.
