Arrow, is a missive weapon of defence, used by archers. Its form is slender, pointed, and barbed.— Arrow-makers were denominated fletchers ; men of considerable importance in the state.
Arrow-heads and quarrels were required to be well boched or bras-ed, and hardened at the points with steel; the finishing of which appears to have been the business of the arrow-smith. A more particular account of bows and arrows will be found under the tide of ARcherY.
