Sheep's-Bit, or Hairy Sheep's-Scabious, Jasione Montana, L. an indigenous annual plant, growing in meadows, pastures, and heaths, in dry and sandy tions ; where it blows in June and July. - its blue flowers emit a strong, musky odour; and are eagerly visited by bees. The leaves tain a sweetish mucilage ; on which account they afford grateful food to sheep.
