Family, Composite. Color of rays, rose; of disk, yellow. Rays, 3-toothed. Heads, on short peduncles in corymbose clusters. Leaves, long, narrow, entire, opposite. Stems, leafy, from 1/2 to 2 feet high. July to September.
Massachusetts to New Jersey and southward. A rare and pleasant find is the rose-colored coreopsis, in grassy, shallow swamps.
