Canned cherries, 1 can,

Milk, 1 cup,

Sugar, 1 tablespoon,

Melted butter, 1 tablespoon,

Sifted flour, 2 1/2 cups,

Eggs, 2,

Baking-powder, 1 heaping teaspoon,

Salt, 1/2 teaspoon.

Beat together all the ingredients, except the cherries; then stir in the cherries which have been drained from their syrup.

Turn this into a mold and steam it for 2 hours. Serve it with a sauce made with the drained syrup, sweetened, and slightly thickened.
