We are sure that it will be gratifying to many of our readers to know that the Glasgow and West of Scotland Horticultural Society intend to hold a great International Show in 1872 similar t those so successfully held by the Royal Caledonian Society in Edinburgh in 1865 and 1869. Another opportunity will then be afforded to horticulturists from all parts to meet in friendly rivalry, and we feel sure that such a meeting will have the effect of advancing horticulture, and of causing horticulturists from places far apart to respect each other more and more. And there can be no doubt that the great metropolis of the west of Scotland is in a position to offer the very best of encouragement to exhibitors.
