This group contains types of evergreens which are valuable for accent and for specimen purposes. They should be planted on the open lawn or where there is ample space for them to develop their natural habit of growth. Evergreens from this list, and the low-growing types of a more informal character from Groups IX-A and IX-B should be selected for the refined mass plantings of evergreens as illustrated in Figure I Plate XL
