One of our earliest harbingers of spring; acaulescent perennial, flowers, April, bluish, leaves reniform, 5 Cm. (2') long, 3-lobed; contains mucilage, tannin. Tonic, demulcent, deobstruent; liver affections, bronchitis, phthisis; in decoction, infusion. Dose, 3ss-2 (2-8 Gm.).
