Present name. - Amnionic Succinate. (Nh4)2C4H4O4.
Can be made by neutralizing Succinic Acid with solution of Ammonia.
This has not been proved, but there are reasons for believing that it acts on the nervous system, and would prove useful in hysteria, in the treatment of which Amber (Succinum) was long held in estimation.
Preparation. - Solution in distilled water up to 1, then use distilled water to which 5 per cent. of rectified spirit has been added for 3x and 2, dilute alcohol for 3, and afterwards rectified 6pirit.
