When this malady occurs in persons of full habit- especially if also of gouty tendencies - and when pyrexia, severe local irritation, gastric disorder, and loaded urine are present, I have seen much advantage from combining antimony with magnesia or other saline aperients, or with diuretics. Meade also writes in its favor (British Medical Journal, ii., 1864).
