The Mulberry. The fruit of Morus Nigra. Nat. Ord. Urticaceae. Linn. Syst. Moncia Tetrandria. It is a pleasant refrigerant, but its chief use in medicine is as a colouring agent.
Offic. Prep. Syrupus Mori (Mulberry Juice fl. oz. xx.; Sugar lbs. iiss.; Rect. Spirit fl. oz. iiss. Dissolve the Sugar in the Juice by a gentle heat, and set aside for twenty-four hours; then remove the scum, pour off the clear liquid from the dregs, if any appear, and add the Spirit). Dose, ad lib.
