Pimento. All-Spice. The unripe fruit of Eugenia (Myrtus) Pimenta. Nat. Ord. Myrtaceae. Linn. Syst. Icosandria Monogynia. Hab. West Indies, &c.
Med, Prop. and Action. Stimulant and carminative. Its activity depends on a volatile oil (Oleum PimentAe). The distilled water (Aqua PimentAe) is much used as a vehicle for other medicines.
