Cetraric Acid. The bitter principle of Cetraria Islandica, Iceland Moss, occurs in small, white, inodorous, intensely bitter acicular crystals, very slightly soluble in water, but readily so in alkaline solutions. Comp. C34H16O15. It is regarded as febrifuge.
