Eng., Zinc Acetate. Form.-White plates.
A faintly acetous odor, and in dilute solutions an astringent, metallic taste.
In 2.3 parts of water or 30 parts of alcohol. Incompatibles.-See Zincum. Average Dose.-2 grains (0.125 Gm.).
Astringent, antiseptic.
Its only common use is in the treatment of gonorrhea, when it is prepared by prescribing together zinc sulphate and lead acetate.
