Born in Washington on August 7th, 1886, both her parents being prominent on the stage, Miss Millie Burke came to Lon-don when she twelve years of to improve her singing. Ultimately went on a successful Continental tour, making herprofessional debut in this country at the London Pavilion. It was while appearing in pantomime at Glas-gow that her cleverness and charm attracted the attention of Mr. George Edwardes, who gave her a part in " The School Girl," in which she made a "hit" by her singing of "My Little Canoe." "The Duchess of Dantzic" and "The Moon" are other musical comedies in which she has appeared. She made her debut " star " in America, at the Lyceum Theatre New York, in " Love Watches." Quite unspoiled by her success, Miss Burke is one of the most popular young actresses on or off the stage.
