Dianthus Heddewigii, Japan Pink, is a most attractive little flower of many colours, that blooms profusely and continues to bloom for some time if the flowers are well plucked. There is not much place for Pinks in the flower garden, unless along some border, but they are good in the kitchen garden. Dianthus plumarius is the old-fashioned May Pink, sweet scented, that might be placed in the Court of Honour. Grow them in Summer and transplant to the garden in early Spring.
