524. Caution. When written easily and promptly, the in hook is a valuable time-saving expedient; but to force it into use where it does not make a convenient junction or where the proper method of joining it does not readily suggest itself, is a sad waste of time. In order that the use of this expedient in proper cases may be thoroughly acquired, the foregoing lists have been made copious enough to suit the wishes of the most ambitious student.
