S. nemorum : lower leaves heart-shaped, upper ovate sessile; flowers large, white, in elegant spreading cymes, the petals narrow and deeply cleft. - Moist woods. Fl. May, June.
S. media: annual, smooth; stems weak, branched; leaves small, ovate; flowers small, white. - Chickweed. - Cultivated and waste ground. Fl. all the year.
S. Holostea: leaves lanceolate, finely saw-toothed; flowers large, white, with inversely heart-shaped petals. - Stitchwort. - Groves, thickets, and hedge-sides. Fl. May.
