Styptics are remedies to stop bleeding. In the dog the vessels seldom give way externally, but internally the disease is very frequent, either in the form of a bloody flux, or bloody urine, or bleeding from the lungs, for which the following may be tried:

61 - Superacetate of lead, 2 to 3 grains. Tincture of matico, 30 to 50 drops. Vinegar, 10 drops. Water, 1 ounce.

Mix, and give two or three times a day.
